Deaf Peoples

While worker Gretchen Snow and her national partner were ministering to the Deaf in a city in a Southeast Asian country, they went to the Deaf school that is about two hours outside the city. In the southern part of this country, there are three Deaf schools. Some students have to travel from their villages or towns to attend, while others are hidden away and are hard to find. Gretchen and her partner went to the school to meet the principal and staff in order to develop a relationship with them and gather more information that would be beneficial for the work. This Deaf school is still in development, and there are only about 40 students enrolled. The school is still establishing educational levels, as well as adding sports and other activities. Gretchen asked if there were any Christians there. The answer: “No Christians.” They were told that the two groups represented are Islam and Buddhism, with a larger number of Muslims than Buddhists. God is working there. Pray for relationships that are forming and plans to visit there again in the future to share the good news. Join in praying for a Deaf group to form in that city.
