Deaf Peoples

There are more than 1.2 million Deaf people in Uganda. Oftentimes, the Deaf are overlooked and are seen as a burden or as someone who is cursed. Thankfully, Uganda has its own official sign language, which allows there to be better communication among those who are Deaf. Not all Deaf Ugandans have access to a Deaf school or even someone who can teach them how to sign. Pray for God to raise up Ugandan believers who have a heart for the Deaf. Intercede for the many different groups that are translating the Bible into Ugandan Sign Language (USL), and pray for the believers who are working on translating Bible stories into USL. Ask that the Deaf believers will grow strong in their faith and understanding of God’s Word. Please pray for more believers to go out and share the gospel with the Deaf and for churches in Kampala to love and support the Deaf in their communities.
