Northern Coastal Peoples of Mozambique

As the sun peaks out over the rising tide, Andy gathers his net. He lifts it high over his shoulder with one arm and drags his canoe with his other. A wave crashes on his ankles, then his knees, and he jumps into his carved-out canoe. He looks to the rising sun and wonders, “Will I catch anything today? Will my family eat tonight?” He rows farther and farther out to sea, praying to a God he does not know. Andy is not alone. All along the coast of northern Mozambique live fishermen: fishermen who are fishing for food that will not last; fishermen who are placing their hope in temporary circumstances. Please intercede on behalf of these fishermen. War and the terrain have made it difficult to get the gospel to these villages. Please ask God to make a way, and pray that men like Andy will fish not only for food that is here today and gone tomorrow, but for the souls of men and the kingdom of God.
