Although the Christmas season is over, and a new calendar year has begun, churches in Southern Taiwan are still decorated, festive, and busy as ever as they now prepare for Chinese New Year coming up in February. Culturally, this is the most important celebration of the year. Lights and lanterns are hung. Blessings are written on red paper and posted on door posts. Verbal greetings are given, wishing family and friends wealth, health, and long life. It is a time to celebrate with family and friends by sharing meals together and visiting each other’s homes. It is a time to clean out the old and replace it with all things new. Pray with local believers as they take this opportunity to share how their lives have been transformed to a truly new life in Christ. May this be a banner year of people from Southern Taiwan finding new life that only comes from a relationship with Jesus. Thank you for praying with us.
