Students & Young Professionals, Seoul, South Korea

Suicide remains a serious issue in Seoul, South Korea. In 2024 there were 2,234 reported suicide deaths, averaging about 6.1 per day. For perspective, the international average suicide rate among Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries is 10.7 (per 100,000 people). Seoul’s rate is more than double at 24.1. This past November, the South Korean government launched its very first suicide prevention committee. IMB missionaries in Seoul are also reaching out to struggling young people. This February, missionaries hosted Trauma Healing workshops for young people struggling with their emotional health. Please pray for the participants of these trauma healing meetings. Pray that they will find their hope in Jesus and give their burdens to Him. Pray that missionaries will have empathy, understanding and wisdom for those struggling. Pray that young people in Seoul will see that there is a reason for living, Jesus!
