This year, Sudan marks its 70th year of independence from colonization. Sadly, there is little to celebrate as the war continues, the economy plunges, and the people, both those internally displaced and those still in their homes, suffer. Please do not cease to pray for that needy country and its people. Pray for a solution to the complicated conflict. Pray for peace. Pray for rebuilding. Pray for hope. “I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure” (Psalm 40:1-2 ESV). Please pray: “O God, hear the cries of the Sudanese people and deliver them.”
