Around the world, Muslims will begin the fasting month of Ramadan starting at sundown on February 18, 2026. Many Muslims in East Indonesia are rather nominal, Muslim in name but really more animistic, so they might fast the first week of Ramadan but then go on with life as usual. Would you pray that they feel the heaviness of this “required” burden on them, that they would be confronted with their inability to perfectly complete the fast (abstaining from food, water, smoking, sex, and some say even anger should be avoided) and that they would be desperate for a God that did the work of salvation for them? Pray that they will hear the gospel soon and be attracted to God’s free gift of salvation. Pray that their burdensome rules and regulations would cause them to seek freedom and assurance of salvation in Christ.
