Patsy McGee Howard, an International Mission Board missionary emeritus who shared the gospel in Japan, died Dec. 28, 2022, in Waco, Texas. She was 93.

Patsy was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Big Sandy, Texas, to Mack and Jessie McGee. She graduated from Kilgore High School, and received the Bachelor of Science from Baylor University, Waco, Texas.

While attending Baylor University, she met Stanley P. Howard, Jr. They married on Sept. 5, 1948.

In 1949, the Foreign Mission Board (now International Mission Board) appointed Pat and Stan missionaries to Japan. She and Stan served in Japan from 1950 until their retirement on Jan. 1, 1988.

In her obituary, the family wrote, “Throughout her life, Pat’s love and joy was found in serving God and creating a joyful home filled with Christ’s love for her husband, children and grandchildren.”

Pat is preceded in death by Stan, her husband of 69 years. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Jim) Bland; son, Stanley III (Loan) Howard of McKinney, Texas; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A private funeral and graveside service was at Waco Memorial Park.
