About This Project
Imagine one-third of the US population crowded into a space half the size of Texas, and you will have a vision of the size and density of this South Asian state. Yet, hearts are open to Christ here, and the harvest is ready. A team of long-term workers is training local believers to reap a harvest of souls in unreached areas using an evangelism strategy Jesus employed with His disciples.
Using methods described by Jesus in Luke 10, small groups of IMB workers, national pastors and local believers go to unreached villages seeking “person(s) of peace” and evangelizing households. As a result of these training and gospel sharing efforts, hundreds of people have heard the gospel, and Gospel Push teams follow up on them every month.
The approximate monthly cost for a Gospel Push group to be trained is $300. This cost does not include financial support for pastors and leaders that participate in these efforts as we simultaneously train them in self-supported approaches to ministry. Your gift to the Gospel Push project will underwrite the training costs, outreach efforts, church health assessments, and evangelism and discipleship materials written in local languages.
Just as Jesus spent time with believers and invited them into a discipleship relationship, each Gospel Push effort engages in gospel sharing in an unreached village and then disciples new believers through regular Bible studies. The teams also train local believers to lead these new churches toward health and growth. The goal of each Gospel Push effort is urgent and broad gospel proclamation, intentional discipleship and healthy church formation in every village of this highly populated state. Your partnership through prayer and giving will fan the flames of the gospel as they spread rapidly in this place where hearts are open. The vast network of villages and the complex scattering of people groups have created challenging barriers, inhibiting the gospel flow throughout this region.
