Russell Watson passed peacefully into the presence of Jesus on Sunday, April 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Russell developed a strong affinity with Africa and God's work there after a trip to Southern Africa in 2007.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made to the Russell Watson Memorial Fund for IMB Missions in Africa to further God's Great Commission work throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
