Your gift will assist teams of long-term workers to address these needs through outreach projects to alleviate the physical suffering, bring joy to the hopeless and preach the gospel to all who will listen. The teams will meet physical and community needs by distributing food packets, water filters, and health and hygiene packets, and hosting community events aimed at bringing joy and hope back into the people’s hearts.
Spiritual needs will be met by distributing gospel packets, gospel mp3 players and community viewings of gospel-centered videos and movies in the local languages. The teams are already implementing these projects and your partnership is vital to continuing the work. Give today to offer hope and the message of salvation to the people of Myanmar during desperate and devastating circumstances.
Opportunities abound. Bennu* and her husband Shway* lived in a remote village in the hills. After a fierce round of fighting between the ethnic resistance and government troops, the military launched indiscriminate airstrikes on their area. No military targets were in the area, no resistance troops, nothing but poor villagers struggling to feed their families as the economy collapsed. They killed Shway, leaving Bennu as a widow. The daunting responsibility of feeding five children was compounded when four children from her relatives came to her without a place to live, food to eat, or anyone to take care of them.
Believers meet needs with love. Despite relief work being highly dangerous, with the military viewing any assistance to locals as “supporting terrorism,” a team of national believers entered Bennu’s village. Because of your generosity, they delivered hope. Not only did they bring rice, oil, and salt—the basic staples of rural life—they shared the gospel. They connected Bennu with a local pastor in their Mountain network to follow up and continue to engage with her. Shortly after that, in desperation, Bennu left the country to work in Malaysia. It was her only option, she said. Otherwise, she would never be able to care for nine kids. The team has continued sharing food and checking on the children since she left.
Christ compassionately meets human needs while teaching about the Kingdom of Heaven throughout the gospels. James 2:14-18 reminds us that if we pass by the hungry and have faith unmatched by deeds, our faith is useless. Because of your partnership, the gospel is going forth through doors opened by incorporating relief and mercy ministries into strategic outreach.

Spirituality swirls through cities and countryside like the smoke from temple incense sticks. Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, animists, Daoists and ancestor worshipers live here, comprising 851 unreached people groups who have never heard that freedom is found in Christ. Pray for divine appointments for Christian workers to share that Jesus is the way to peace with God and eternal life. Ask God to glorify His name among the peoples of the Asian Pacific Rim Peoples affinity.
