Portrait of a Tolai man. The Tolai people live in a village near the city of Rabual, in the East New Britain province of Papua New Guinea. Every morning, the Tolai men paddle dug-out canoes over to the base of a volcano to harvest the eggs of a bird that likes to bury its eggs in the warm volcanic ash.
