Of the over six million Bicolanos, only 1-2% are Christ-followers. Many say, “To be Filipino is to be Catholic.” Most families will ostracize their relatives if they choose to follow Jesus instead of following the teachings of the Catholic Church. Dependent on religion and good works to save them, Bicolanos also adopt many superstitions that impact their daily decisions. Despite these challenges, our team’s vision is to see a gospel witness in the remaining 200 villages of Camarines Norte currently void of a church presence.
For years, our team has lived among this rural people group. We aim to share the gospel as we go about our lives while setting aside time in the week to go into the community and share as a team. Through the People of Promise (POP) ministry, we run a student/training center. High school and college students come to the POP student center for sports, seminars, study groups, and house church. We disciple and equip them to share the good news with their unbelieving friends and classmates.

People of Promise Student Center
Establish the People of Promise (POP) Student Center to forward the work of the POP Campus Ministry, training believing students to reach their generation for Christ. Your gift will fund meals, Bibles and training materials, supplies for outreaches, rent, and utilities. Give today to help the POP Campus Ministry and Student Center propel the gospel across local school campuses and out into the unreached villages of this province.
Expanding the Gospel’s Reach
Our work results in a lot of travel as we share the gospel, disciple new believers, nurture churches, and develop leaders. We want to ensure everyone has access to the good news and the training they need to play their part in building God’s kingdom. Your gift helps fund fuel and public transportation costs for our team’s ministry.
Baptist Partner Ministry Training
Each year, we take our core team (POP Team) to a conference, a seminar, and annual meetings for training, personal growth, spiritual renewal, and fellowship. Your gift will enable us to attend these events and get us there, as one of our favorite conferences is over a 12-hour drive one way!
Bicol Region Ministry Partnerships
This year, we are partnering with local believers and church planters to start new churches and strengthen existing fellowships in the Bicol Region. Join us in praying for the locations for these new congregations, asking God to raise up new believers and seekers to gather as the church and fuel the growth of fledgling congregations for His glory in this area!
POP Team Prayer Retreat
Your gift will host one of our POP (People Of Promise) Leadership Team's favorite activities of the year, coming alongside us as we focus our hearts on crying out to the Father to make His glory known in and through us and expand His kingdom in the Bicol region.
Bibles & Gospel Resources
Your gift will distribute tracts, give Bibles to those who show a strong interest in the gospel, and print gospel resources for seminars and meetings.
AV Equipment for Worship & Discipleship Training
Audio-visual equipment is a critical component of our teaching ministry, displaying the truths of God on the screen so participants can internalize the training and gain the capacity to train others. Your gift will provide AV equipment to enhance worship services and trainings.
Impoverished Children's Christmas Party
You can share the true meaning of Christmas for 200 impoverished Children in Alawihao village, and provide games, lunch, and gift bags. Come alongside us as the hands and feet of Jesus to the children of this village and, through them, to their families.
Jacob* and Isa* lead a weekly Bible study in their home village as an outgrowth of their growing relationships with Christ. While Jacob became a believer when he was younger, he lived far from a local church and never grew spiritually until a Nehemiah team from the U.S. traveled to his hometown. Time with that team led him to begin actively pursuing a relationship with God. Jacob found the People of Promise (POP) Student Center when he moved away to attend college. His sister Isa became a Christian after she moved away from her village to attend college in the same city. Both are now committed followers of Christ, actively participating in the POP Student Center and bringing the gospel to their home village by leading a Bible study. Your generosity to our team enables Jacob, Isa, and many other students to be discipled and to disciple others.
With seven colleges and universities in the area the POP Student Center serves, the city parallels a modern-day Jerusalem, which students come into from many surrounding villages and return to for school breaks, festivals, and, eventually, permanent careers. Our team engages students through weekly prayer and discipleship activities as well as Sunday morning worship services. As training believers to embrace the Great Commission, they return to their home communities to evangelize and disciple. This strategy has led us into numerous villages to do weekly Bible studies with believing local partners, and two have merged into a new church.
