Partner with us as we use God's Story to share the Good News of Christ, disciple believers, train leaders and start churches in all 26 provinces, 200+ languages and all sectors of Congolese society.
“Tell His story, tell it often, tell it well, so that it becomes a way of life” is our team’s motto, which clearly illustrates our vision for Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). DRC has welcomed missionaries since 1878, yet familiarity with church culture over five generations of believers has led to a greater commitment to being a church member than to follow Jesus and His Great Commission. Our team, in partnership with African colleagues and partners, is engaged to re-evangelize this vast country. Your gift will help to re-engage the local church and evangelize non-believers. Using the Bible and its stories, we are committed to all aspects of the missionary task, including evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and healthy church formation.
Our goal is to reach all segments of society and all regions of the country. Our strategy includes specific initiatives to impact children, students, chaplains, laypeople, pastors, and Bible schools with oral teaching models designed for deep Bible knowledge, personal application, and life transformation. Join us on this adventure to bring lost Congolese to faith in Christ and to revitalize the local church to commit themselves fully to Christ and His mission.

Gifts toward specific efforts show us what you are excited about. Occasionally, we may redeploy gifts as we follow God's leading with urgent opportunities or changing international contexts. Any gifts received beyond the goal go toward a similar project or our team support.
Children's Discipleship Leaders' Training
Engaging and equipping children to join in God’s mission is our vision for children’s discipleship ministry, using a multi-year children’s discipleship program called “Great Commission Kids.” Your gift will fund training materials and travel to remote areas of DRC to train and equip the local church to do this important task.
Pygmy Bible School
A Bible school to prepare Pygmy pastors and evangelists is necessary to reach this people group scattered in the Equateur region of DRC. Your gift will support the establishment of the Pygmy Bible School, ensuring the gospel’s reach deep into the jungle through the formation of healthy church leaders.
Expanding the Gospel's Reach
As we share the gospel, disciple new believers, nurture churches, and develop leaders, we travel a lot. We want to ensure everyone has access to the good news and the training they need to play their part in building God’s kingdom. Your gift helps fund fuel and public transportation costs for our team’s ministry so that as many people as possible can hear the gospel and learn what it means to follow Jesus faithfully.
Follow-Up on Oral Bible Storying Projects
‘Tell His Story, Tell it Often, Tell it Well’ oral Bible storying projects in partnership with Seed Company (Wycliffe) have introduced more than 70 Bibleless people groups to the Word of God in their heart language. Your gift provides the resources for orality champions to visit these remote areas or follow up regularly by phone. We have orality champions who willing to visit remote people groups when we have the resources to get them there.
Orality Modules in Regional Bible Schools
Cults and false teachings are spreading throughout the Congo by untrained pastors and rogue radio preachers who teach the prosperity gospel. Your gift will help combat this danger, enabling Baptist Bible schools in eight locations add orality modules to their existing curriculum to teach biblically sound doctrine among all believers.
Radio Bible Programs
False teaching spreads rapidly in Congo through radio, TV, and social media. To counter these teachings, our Congolese partners are broadcasting Bible stories in three towns, followed by listener call-ins to share how they will apply the truths to their lives. Your gift will cover these weekly 30-minute spots to an estimated audience of 1 million.
'Tell His Story' Conferences
Tell His Story Conferences use the cultural storytelling style practiced by the Congolese for centuries to share Bible stories that reveal God’s heart toward humanity and the gift of salvation through Jesus. Your gift will train local congregations in this method, inspiring them to grow in faith and share the truths of Scripture more effectively.
Worship Songwriting Workshops
Worship and Songwriting Workshops guide participants though a process of discovering biblical truths to transform their lives and practice before God and put their discoveries to music. Your gift will bless our local partners who train believers to write new worship songs that can be shared from congregation to congregation.
Orality Trainings in Every Province
‘Orality’ is the verbal telling of Bible stories for evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development. We have trained national leaders and laymen in 19 of 26 provinces in this method, and your gift will enable those new leaders to multiply what they have learned into an orality movement in all 26 provinces!
'Lead Like David' Leadership Training
At "Lead Like David" conferences, participants master six to ten Bible stories from King David’s life, then evaluate the good and bad practices of the characters in the stories to develop their own leadership style. Your gift will help host these conferences and provide transportation costs for local trainers.
Prayer Conference
Prayer conferences walks the participant through instructive stories that teach Jesus’s disciples how to pray. The teaching guides participants to evaluate the motives and practices that drive their communication with God. Your gift will help us host prayer conferences and provide transportation costs for our local partners who help lead the event.
Your generosity to this ministry has trained thousands of storytellers across Congo to share the gospel with those who are lost.
Once people become believers, biblical storytellers share the stories of Jesus, His disciples, Paul, the Early Church, and Old Testament characters. These stories serve to disciple these new Christians.
They also help believers connect with God’s plans for evangelism and multiplication, Bible study and spiritual growth, servant leadership, and church planting.
The Bible storying training you provided empowered illiterate Congolese to share their faith with their friends and families. Children are establishing strong biblical foundations for their spiritual development.
Even those who are well-trained theologically are coming under conviction as they see Scripture come to life for their congregations through storying.
God has used your giving to this ministry in Sunday schools, Bible schools, chaplaincy programs, Bible translation, worship, counseling, and theological education. Thank you for making this possible!

Henri* became a believer as a teenager. He strived to walk with God through his teen years but struggled to understand the Scriptures.
But that’s just where you enter Henri’s story.
Your generosity sent missionaries to Henri’s community, who began discipling him. As he started growing in Christ, he looked for opportunities to serve.
Because of your gifts to this ministry, he and three other local believers traveled to another region of Congo to lead conferences to help believers better understand God’s Word and share it with others.
Over the 26-day trip, the team trained 238 believers, had gospel conversations with nearly 1300, and saw 68 people accept Jesus as Savior.
Your generosity to this ministry discipled Henri and many others and made these trainings possible. Thank you for your investment in Congolese believers.
Please join us in prayer:
Your giving makes an eternal difference in the lives of Congolese believers and those who are lost. Your commitment to following Christ like Henri did increases the impact of your gifts and prayers. We appreciate your faithfulness!

God brought about an unprecedented transformation in the relationship between the Bantu and Pygmy tribes in Central Africa. Decades of political tensions and enslavement caused deep mistrust between the two tribes. One day, a storm destroyed a Pygmy church in a small village. The children who attended insisted their pastor continue their weekly Bible StoryClub outside. Some Bantu children would stand at a distance, teasing and laughing at the Pygmy children as they learned Bible stories and practiced telling them to one another. Remarkably, though, the Bantu children would go home and tell the stories to their families. Intrigued by the stories their children told them, some Bantu parents decided to come and listen for themselves. After several weeks of observation, the Bantu parents began joining the Pygmies in worship. Your generosity trained their pastor to teach Bible StoryClub, and God’s Word transformed an entire community from enemies into “fellow heirs, members of the same body” (Ephesians 3:6). Thank you for making this possible!
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14). Studies show that children develop their worldview between the ages of 9 and 13 and that one out of every two people on the African continent is a child. Our team is committed to investing in the future of the Congo Basin today by bringing the stories of Scripture into children’s lives.
Thank you for your sacrificial giving and faithful intercession that enable us to pour into children struggling to overcome decades of hatred, mistrust, and neglect so they may become God’s Church in the future.
We count on your partnership in prayer:
Thank you for joining us in addressing the world’s greatest problem: lostness. Your gifts and prayers for this team enable us to reach the people of the Congo Basin with the good news. You are a co-laborer with us in the gospel, and we value your partnership!

The “Tell His Story” Orality Conference is our primary way to introduce a local congregation to orality, what the Bible is all about, and their role is according to God’s plan. Because of your generosity, last year we hosted 23 of these 3-day orality trainings in local churches around Kinshasa, the capital city of the DRC and in several villages in the interior. Some had small crowds of only 15 participants, but most reached 30 to 50 in these local churches.
We are blessed that because of your partnership, we often witness someone say, “My whole life has been just playing church. I have never truly repented and let Jesus transform my life like you talked about.” It is also not uncommon to have 3 to 12 people on the street pray with us after narrating a story we just taught in orality training. God is working!
In the first quarter of 2023, we have led seven orality trainings with 370 people trained from 39 different churches. These participants have shared Bible stories with 2,556 people in their neighborhoods. Thank you for your ongoing prayer and support that allows us to share God’s transformational stories with more Congolese people.

The recent Worship Songwriting Workshop is why I came to Kinshasa as a missionary. Along with the prayer conference, this is my favorite workshop in which to participate. The question of how and why we worship is often not given adequate reflection. Facilitating these discussions calls people to really think about what God wants from us in our worship. Each of the 24 Bible stories we studied led us to the same conclusion: God looks at the heart! In the first part of 2023, we led a similar worship discussion in a local church. The 45 participants found biblical support for what and why they worship. In addition, they composed a new song. Remié left with a new relationship with Christ, realizing through the discussion that he had never truly made Jesus his Lord and Savior. We hope to lead this conference at least seven more times this year. Your support through prayer and giving is what we need to facilitate this transformation of lives and attitudes. Thank you for your partnership!

It is with great joy that we can report to you what our physical presence and your partnership have accomplished here in 2023. We presented our first Orality Prayer Conference at a local church every Saturday this past month. We had about 30 participants each evening. Our team of eight Congolese nationals narrated five different biblical stories, giving explicit instruction and examples on prayer. Then, we guided the discussion using our storying strategies. The pastor said, “The discussion they engaged in was phenomenal for my church members.” The truths the participants drew out were very insightful and challenged their current method of praying.
As with any learning activity, the real test of effectiveness is what truths are transferred into daily practice. I look forward to hearing what the pastor reports in the coming month, but I can already report on the change occurring among my team of nationals. The principle we teach is that you should never teach something that you have not internalized. Praise God! I am seeing this truth become a reality. I wish you could hear what they share from their lives concerning prayer. This conference has the potential to change how believers communicate with their Heavenly Father. Thank you for your support of this ministry. It is through your partnership that we can continue being your messengers here.

At the end of a three-year Oral Bible Storying project (OBS) in a Congolese community, one of the leaders in the project asked if he could begin a program on the local Christian radio station that would communicate the gospel via Bible stories. A group of three narrators met in the studio for 30 minutes a week, telling a Bible story and answering discovery questions. They also set up two phones for call-ins. The first phone takes live calls as part of the discovery time, while the other receives text messages with comments and insights the leader reads on air.
After just a few programs, the manager of the radio station told the team that the response to their program, “Tell the Story,” was greater than he had ever expected—on average 11 calls per show—and interest is growing. Now, there are more people calling in and texting than they have time to respond to during the show! Some asked whether the team could lead story training sessions at their churches. Others shared how much the stories touched their hearts and impacted their lives. Many people are coming to Christ, recommitting their lives to Christ, and reconciling broken relationships because of this training and our partnership with you.
We pray for God’s Word to have an increasing impact on all the people groups of our region through orality projects like this one. We thank God for visionary partners and supporters like you who fund this outreach.
