Situated on the shores of the sea, Lighthouse City bustles with the comings and goings of millions of people living and dying in spiritual darkness. The majority of the city’s population is Muslim, and only about 1% of the city’s inhabitants have a personal relationship with Jesus. Lighthouse City desperately needs a bold gospel witness and a steadfast and faithful church.
Our team, the Lighthouse City Team, is dedicated to living distinctively Christian lives before the lost. We are also committed to clearly and confidently communicating the good news of the gospel while working to bolster the church, which has experienced severe persecution and faces political and economic turmoil. There are few churches and many scattered Christians who need to make a clear commitment to the church to grow to maturity.
We invite you to join us as we strive to bridge the gap between the church and the lost and see growth from the fruit of salvation brought about by repentance and belief in Jesus. Your gift will maintain our presence here, enabling us to continue communicating the gospel clearly to the lost and gathering them into healthy churches that glorify Jesus! Pray with us that the gospel would spread throughout Lighthouse City and millions of people here would be among the multitude of people from every tribe, tongue, and language glorifying God (Rev. 7:9).
Gifts toward specific efforts show us what you are excited about. Occasionally, we may redeploy gifts as we follow God's leading with urgent opportunities or changing international contexts. Any gifts received beyond the goal go toward a similar project or our team support.
Hospitality and Events
Your gift will offset the costs of outreach events and hosting people in our homes, which allows us to demonstrate Christlike love and hospitality while facilitating opportunities for evangelism and discipleship.
Continued Advanced Language Learning
Our basic language study is provided through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. However, spiritual vocabulary in Arabic differs from our local dialect, so we need additional study resources and tutoring. Your gift will provide spiritually focused lessons and resources to support our team as we grow in our ability to communicate the gospel effectively in the local dialect.
Digital Evangelism and Discipleship
What do you do when you have a question? Many people turn directly to their smartphones. Digital Engagement is about reaching people where they often look for answers. Your gift helps us powerfully reach people with the Gospel, answer questions through chat conversations, and invite people to read the Bible, meet in person, and join Bible Study groups.
Training Materials
Discipleship and training are essential for the growth of the church. Your gift will help us to encourage deeper spiritual growth in our local partners and new believers by providing training and discipleship materials.
The goal represents the cost of our team’s ministry activities for this calendar year. The Cooperative Program and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® (LMCO) fully fund our living expenses. The goal amount resets every January 1st. All gifts completed through this form are directed to our team’s ministry strategy.
