We seek to train local believers to take their part in the global fulfilling of the Great Commission so that their local churches will flourish and plant new, healthy Malawian churches.
Almost 80% of Malawians are professing Christians, but sadly, most are nominal in their faith, creating a need to evangelize the church. In the urban centers live other groups without Christ–Middle Easterners, South Asians, East Asians, and South American people group segments who are currently not engaged with the gospel.
The average median age for Malawi is 18 years old, making it one of the youngest nations in the world. Moreover, within the next 15 years, Malawi’s urban population is expected to double. So, by the year 2035, Lilongwe, the capital, will have swelled from a population of 1 million to 2 million.
Our team primarily serves in the central region of Malawi in Lilongwe. The foremost need here is leadership development and healthy church trainings. To see Malawian believers live out their faith, making disciples and starting new healthy churches successfully, we need healthy leaders leading healthy churches. To this end, we have created training courses for the church to help them embody their faith and spread it across the country and to the ends of the earth.
Your partnership with us will support “Healthy Church” training, “Biblical Family” training, and “Missionary Task” (M-Task) training to deepen the discipleship of believers and open their eyes to their part in God’s global mission. We want to help the Malawian Baptist Church see that they are no longer a mission field ready to receive missionaries but can become a major missionary sending force.
In addition to leading these trainings over the next three years, your partnership will enable us to continue casting vision to and discipling the next generation of Baptist leaders at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Malawi. God is at work there! Isaac, a third-year student, is currently taking Intro to Missiology. Recently, Isaac said, “I’ve been thinking about the Great Commission and how we’re all called to take the gospel to the nations. God has brought the nations to Malawi, and so we should take every opportunity to build relationships with people that aren’t like us so that we can reach them with the gospel.” He put this new idea into practice and reached out to a Lebanese shop owner, hoping soon to create a bridge to the gospel. We invite you to join us in this exciting work of developing the Malawi church into a missionary force passionately invested in seeing all nations worshipping around God’s throne at the end of time (Rev. 7:9-10)!

Training for National Missionaries
To reach our vision of a Malawian church making disciples in Malawi and beyond, we must cast vision and equip home missionaries to impact their people and those of different cultures. Help us train missionaries within the local Baptist convention, equipping them to share the gospel and plant churches in cross-cultural settings. We will work with Malawian missionaries to see the lost reached, disciples made, healthy churches planted.
Pastor Training
Over half of Malawian churches exist without theologically trained leaders. Support leadership and theological education by providing fuel, lodging, and other logistical expenses for our team as we travel around the country providing theological education to church leaders.
Family Discipleship Training
God desires to reflect his glory and love for the Church in the family. Your gift enables us to build into the health of Christian families through conferences which help each member of the family understand their role and how they all work together for God’s glory. Join us in working toward flourishing families that exhibit peace and love, which reflect Christ’s love and the gospel itself.
Evangelism Training
African churches are poised to impact not only Africa but the world with the gospel. Join in this work by helping us train local believers equipping them to boldly and clearly share the gospel in any situation. Your gift allows us to spend time alongside local believers sharing the good news in ways they can replicate for years to come. They will be equipped to share God’s story and their own personal salvation story.
Healthy Church Training
We are praying for and striving to see a healthy Malawian church making disciples within the country and beyond. Join us in reaching that goal by helping us facilitate training for church leaders to understand what Scripture teaches about the Church and how they might move their churches to greater health. Help us build toward the increased vibrancy of the bride of Christ for the glory of God and for the progress of the gospel.
Expanding the Gospel’s Reach
As we share the gospel, disciple new believers, nurture churches, and develop leaders, we travel a lot. We want to ensure everyone has access to the good news and the training they need to play their part in building God’s kingdom. Your gift helps fund fuel and public transportation costs for our team’s ministry so that as many people as possible can hear the gospel and learn what it means to follow Jesus faithfully.
In a small guest house in Malawi, seven missionary couples gather—ordinary Malawian men and women with an extraordinary calling.
They came hungry to learn to share Christ among the many surrounding tribes and how to support families, so they reflect God’s beautiful design.
As they study, pray, and plan, their hearts are renewed with a clear vision: to reach their neighbors not only with words, but also by shining Christ’s light and love.

Through your faithful intercession and generosity, we are casting vision for and discipling the next generation of Baptist leaders through the Baptist Theological Seminary in Malawi and other training programs. Training national partners to serve. Earlier this year, we hosted a training event with the nine couples serving as home missionaries in Malawi. We taught them biblical perspectives on families and evangelism. An enlightening discussion emerged on ministry to Muslims, which is becoming a significant reality for many of these couples. We are preparing for an upcoming training with these missionaries, where we will delve deeper into family ministry and sharing the gospel with Muslims. Pray for God’s wisdom for these families as they seek to serve God amidst challenging circumstances.
Learning to reach Malawi’s Deaf communities. God blessed us with a volunteer team to work with the Deaf in Malawi. We joined them to learn new strategies for reaching the Deaf communities here. Join us in praying for additional opportunities to partner so many Deaf in Malawi can come to know Christ.
God’s Word reaches into lives. God is using a Front Porch Bible study, where we walk through the book of Acts, as a means of discipleship for the believers and evangelism for the lost. Thank you for making it possible for us to live among these precious people and teach the riches of Scripture to them. Pray for God to use this Bible study to draw the lost to Himself and bring growth in His children.
