About This Project
One out of every 10 cancers worldwide is diagnosed in India, and most cases are already advanced by the time they are diagnosed. Bangalore Baptist Hospital’s Cancer Center is expanding to meet this growing challenge, providing healthcare for more people, particularly the urban poor in Bangalore and rural poor in villages surrounding the city. Your gift will provide a much-needed new Varian linear accelerator (linac), the treatment machine used for cancer radiation therapy, which will improve the quality of and access to much-needed care.
Expanded services at the BBH Cancer Center will enable more patients to access life-saving radiation therapy and other cancer treatment options in an environment where they encounter the gospel through the care they receive and witness of the medical staff. Your partnership with the Cancer Center of Bangalore Baptist Hospital is crucial to the ongoing and expanded medical ministry in Bangalore, India’s third-largest city. Join what God is doing to save lives and souls through these urgent upgrades to the medical facility!
Indira* serves as a cook at a local ministry despite being physically challenged by childhood polio.
At just 42, she found a lump in her breast. Her husband took her to two government hospitals, without any conclusive results. Two years passed with no plan or treatment.
A coworker encouraged Indira to visit Bangalore Baptist Hospital. A biopsy revealed a cancerous tumor. The oncology team developed a treatment plan, but the cost was more than Indira’s family could afford.
Indira requested financial assistance, and the hospital significantly reduced the cost.
After chemotherapy and surgery, Indira received 15 days of radiation therapy, thanks to the linear accelerator that your generosity helped provide.
“It is gratifying to work in this great institute that places much importance [on] supporting underprivileged patients. We are able to offer them the best quality treatment, giving them a chance at a cancer cure,” the Head of Radiation Oncology says.
Because of the sacrificial gifts of givers like you, Indira is now cancer-free. She sends her heartfelt gratitude, along with her husband, son, and daughter.
Praise God with us that the linear accelerator is functioning well from 7 AM to 10 PM six days a week. The Radiation Oncology department sees an average of 75 patients daily.
Your giving to this ministry enables the linear accelerator and medical team to address the physical needs of middle- and lower-income patients and share the love of Jesus.
Each one of these cancer patients experiences the love and compassion of Christ through this state-of-the-art machine and the team of professionals caring for them.
Jesus says, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me” (Matthew 25:40). Thank you for caring for cancer patients in Bangalore.
Please continue joining us in prayer:
Thank you for partnering to meet needs and share Jesus with patients and their families in South Asia. You are making an eternal difference in people’s lives.

Mishti* found help and healing despite a devastating cancer diagnosis. While most hospitals in India require upfront cash payments to treat cancer, your gifts allowed doctors at Bangalore Baptist Hospital (BBH) to diagnose and treat Mishti’s cancer at minimal costs.
Her husband’s death left Mishti overwhelmed by the financial responsibilities of her young family. Though she struggled with debilitating stomach pains, she believed her only choice was to push through and continue working, and Mishti knew she could never afford a doctor. She needed to pay for her son’s education. One day, however, the pain was unbearable, and a friend finally took her to BBH. There she found the unexpected: hope.
Today, Mishti is alive and healthy!
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the administrators of BBH, as well as to the dedicated doctors and nurses who cared for me. Their compassion and generosity have been a ray of hope in our darkest hours, and my family will forever cherish BBH’s support.”
Thank you for making this treatment accessible to Mishti and many like her! Faithful partners like you provide life-saving access to a new LINAC, which offers advanced treatment options, hope, and healing to countless Indian patients battling cancer.
While we celebrate the acquisition of the new LINAC and the uninterrupted provision of critical treatments, we acknowledge the mission is ongoing. Your gifts and prayers for Project 3000 enable us to deliver high-quality, life-saving care to Bangalore’s most vulnerable and share the good news with those who need the hope of Jesus. You are a co-laborer with us in the gospel. We value your partnership!
