About This Project
Intersecting the lives of tens of thousands of travelers each season, Project Northern Lights is the largest flow of physical gospel resources into Northern Africa. For decades, teams of volunteers have faithfully offered the Word of God to seafaring travelers along the Mediterranean coast.
For many travelers, this is the first time they’ve had the opportunity to receive a copy of Scripture. Praise God for the opportunity to offer the Bible to North African men and women. Your gift will enable the gospel to continue getting into the hands of men and women from Northern Africa and the Middle East. Pray with us that all who receive God’s word will read it and discover the offer of salvation through Jesus.
In recent years, rising costs of fuel, transportation, and lodging have made it difficult for the necessary number of volunteers to participate. Without the participation of volunteers, PNL can’t exist. Your gift will pay for operating expenses, making the trip more affordable for volunteers to participate and directly enabling more people the opportunity to receive a copy of Scripture. Give today and join us in offering God’s Word to thousands who have never heard.
Why direct giving matters
Giving directly to a missionary team helps fund the specific, on-the-ground needs your missionaries care deeply about—needs that aren't covered by CP and LMCO alone.
Rose* is a local volunteer who prayerwalks the area we serve with a small group of other believers. They pray in preparation for upcoming evangelism efforts.
Rose felt the Holy Spirit leading her to stop and talk with a woman, Amala*, seated on a bench. As they spoke, Rose asked Amala if she had assurance of salvation.
Amala’s response startled Rose: “I hope I’ll be in heaven, but I don’t really know.”
Though Rose thought she was praying for other people to share the gospel, she realized God wanted her to share Jesus. She shared her testimony with Amala.
Rose told Amala that Jesus offers that assurance. As they talked, Amala explained that her name means “hope” in her native language. Rose responded that only Jesus gives true hope.
Because of your generosity to this ministry, Amala heard the hope of the gospel.
Thousands of travelers from North Africa and the Middle East (NAME) receive New Testaments or other Christian materials and hear about Jesus each year, thanks to your faithfulness. Thank you for making this possible!
Please continue joining us in prayer:
Thank you for your generous giving and fervent prayers on behalf of the lost in our city. You are making an eternal difference in people’s lives.

Reem* wandered through the touristy area of the city, wondering why she had even disembarked from the ship. She was lonely and aimless.
Neema*, on the other hand, is a natural conversationalist. Her bright smile and casual demeanor radiate the joy of Christ in every conversation.
What looked like a chance encounter between the two women wasn’t. It was ordained by God and enabled by you through your prayers and gifts to this ministry.
Neema is one of five national partners who spent the summer building relationships with international visitors to our city. She was there because your generosity provided housing and local transportation during the team’s stay.
The team shared more than 4,600 gospel packets with the lost across the city and throughout the Mediterranean during their time here. They spent countless hours prayerwalking and shared the gospel more than 100 times.
Neema’s conversation with Reem represents just one of those who heard the gospel because of your commitment to this ministry. Her life is forever changed because of you!
Please join us in prayer:
Thank you for the gospel seeds planted because of your sacrificial gifts. Reem is now your sister in Christ; many others are open to learning more about Jesus. We appreciate you!
