Residency: From Campus To the Nations 2027

We live in one of the biggest cities in the highest populated country in the world. 30 million people come and go to work every day, try to spend time with their families, go to school, go to the market, pursue their dreams, and work for a better tomorrow – and yet less the 1% of them know the hope that comes from life in Christ. People come to the city from the tiniest villages to find a job and a life that they hope can give their existence some meaning – but over and over again we hear stories of people realizing how elusive the financial security and the happiness they hope it will provide is. We have the privilege as team of people from the US and South Asia to work together to see the people of our city reached with the Gospel of Christ. As a resident, you would come onboard with a team that has a need for more explorers and prayer walkers. We need you to help us as we try to: get more contacts among believing college students and young professionals in the city, find out where thriving groups of believers are already meeting in some of the less explored parts of the city, and walk with young believers here as they try to learn how to share the Gospel and disciple others. You need a passion for loving lost people, an excitement to explore new places and prayer walk in areas that are steeped in darkness, and a willingness to go all in with loving national partners and believers in the city. Debrief arrival date: 12/6/2027
Debrief departure date: 12/10/2027

Other Requirements

Residency – An opportunity to serve on mission for one or two semesters while being mentored by an IMB field missionary. Residents are trained together with their cohort at orientation before deploying to their place of service. Residents then return all together for debrief at the end of their term. Application deadlines: Fall Residency trips: deadline to apply is May 1. Spring Residency trips: deadline to apply is October 1. For active members of Southern Baptist churches, travel to/from Orientation/Debrief, lodging and food during orientation/debrief, travel to/from the field, and emergency insurance is covered. All monies raised or donated in excess of the stated cost of this particular Residency trip will be used to offset travel-related costs and may also be used to supplement the broader cost of ministry related to the Residency program, in general.
