Tatar performers sing traditional songs and dance before a group of foreign dignitaries during the Ğabdulla Tuqay festival in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Tuqay was a famous Tatar poet whose birthday is celebrated each year on April 26. Dignitaries from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, China and Mongolia were in attendance. The Republic of Tatarstan is a federal subject of Russia.
