Eid al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice, is a three-day festival that will be celebrated by Bangladeshi Muslims around May 27. This holiday commemorates Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son and is a way to show submission and devotion to Allah. As families gather to watch their cow or goat be sacrificed, pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to them that Abraham’s sacrifice and the provision of the ram by God points to Jesus as the ultimate Sacrifice. Pray that Bangladeshi Christians will be boldly and actively sharing their faith during Eid al-Adha so that many will hear and accept the gospel of Christ. “For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb” (1 Peter 1:18-19 CSB).
