Basotho of Lesotho and South Africa

(BAH-soo-too) – “At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of the Savior. This Christmas, Basotho Team members Stan and Angie Burleson will return to the prison for a birthday celebration with more than 120 inmates. The Basotho do not typically celebrate their birthdays. It’s just another day in their normal routine of life. The inmates will hear of the hope, peace, joy, and love they can experience in Christ by placing their faith in Him. They will celebrate their birthdays, maybe for the first time, while also celebrating the gift of Jesus. Pray that they’ll continue to find healing after the recent completion of the trauma and healing lessons. Pray that they’ll experience new beginnings in Christ as they are forgiven and as they come to realize that God has a plan for their lives. As the clothing is distributed, pray that the inmates will put on Christlike characteristics and take off the worldly characteristics. ‘Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive’ (Colossians 3:12-13 ESV).”
