Toronto’s Chinatown is one of the largest in North America, filled with a diversity of culture, traditions and languages. According to the latest census by the Canadian government, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) has a population of approximately 700,000 Chinese. Chinese immigrants bring with them diverse religious beliefs. In the GTA, there are Buddhist and Daoist temples along with Protestant and Catholic Chinese churches, oftentimes on the same street. The Chinese Christian population in the GTA is increasing, and Christian churches are available but there are not enough to handle the growing population. Missionaries are engaging the Chinese in the GTA with the saving message of the gospel. A new church is forming and reaching new Chinese immigrants. The Chinese are open to hearing and receiving the Word of God. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask God to prepare the hearts of many to hear about Jesus and for new believers to boldly share His good news with their family and friends.
