Global Missionary Partners, Asia-Pacific Rim

Lily is a global missionary partner serving in northern Africa and the Middle East for about six months. She writes: “Last week, while out, I saw a large tent set up on the next street in our community for an event. After asking around, I learned that an elderly person had passed away. We asked if we could go and offer our condolences, and what we needed to do. They were all happy to tell us. We went home, put on our local clothes, and went. Inside the tent were many women (men and women are separated here), all dressed in local attire — black robes and black headscarves). We didn’t know who the owner was, but following custom, we shook hands and greeted everyone. May God help us integrate better into this community. My language learning continues, and there’s some pressure, but I thank God for helping me enjoy it. Recently, I’ve started composing simple messages to greet neighbors and friends I meet in the park. I’ve also learned two short hymns.” Please pray for Lily and her teammates as they learn the local language, study online seminary classes, and reach out to their neighbors with the good news.
