Cynthia serves in a country with many tribal villages. She writes: “Of all the gospel shares we had in the village, there was only one who had a positive response. Praise the Lord that Nadia believed in her heart and confessed with her mouth that Jesus is her Savior. The team has been telling the sacrifice stories in the Bible, starting with the first sacrifice in the Garden of Eden and the sacrifices of Cain and Abel, foreshadowing the ultimate sacrifice. Nadia has heard several sacrifice stories, and yesterday, after the story about Abraham and how God provided a sacrifice in place of Isaac, Nadia asked why there had to be animals slaughtered now for their tribal religious holiday. We explained it using verses from Hebrews, that indeed, God’s decree for sins to be covered must include bloodshed, but Jesus already accomplished that when He died on the cross. Please pray that Nadia’s heart and mind will continue to be opened. We hope to be allowed to stay longer at her house to follow up. Many neighbors are suspicious of our arrival. Please pray for this situation so that we can study the Bible with Nadia and her family.”
