(ny-ROH-bee) – In Kikuyu, a town outside of Nairobi, a small church disciples and shares the gospel of Christ. The pastor of this vibrant church begins a New Believers class every January for one year of training and discipling. The culmination of all the work and training and praying is celebrated in December. On Sunday, December 15, 2024, seven young women made the decision to be baptized. Give thanks to God that on that date, the pastor, elders, and fellowship witnessed these women professing publicly that Jesus Christ is their Savior! “Who once were disobedient when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you–not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience–through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him” (1 Peter 3:20-22 NASB). To God be the glory!
