Latifa, a North African woman, has made France her home for more than 20 years. Recently, she has faced a difficult battle with cancer. The necessary medical treatments have left her drained of strength. Yet even in her weakness, Latifa continues to show remarkable courage. During the week, she joins a small group of women who are learning the local language through Bible stories. Though she has learned that Jesus has the power to heal, she still continues to pray the familiar prayers of her Muslim upbringing five times a day. Her earthly life now feels fragile, but her story is far from over. Latifa can receive the gift of eternal life — a life of peace, joy, and unbroken relationship with God. Pray that she will embrace the truth that Jesus has already opened the way for her to enter the Father’s presence forever. Pray that Latifa’s heart will be filled with understanding and faith and that she will believe the words that Jesus spoke: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6 ESV).
