Northern African and Middle Eastern Unengaged Peoples

The Eliri people live in the South Kordofan region of Sudan. They farm and raise animals for their own use and for income. Relationships are important in this population of 11,000. In community, they live, farm, make decisions, and resolve conflicts. While most follow Islam, there are a growing number of believers among them who follow Christ. Thank the Lord for the practice of communal living that these believers have grown up with! Pray for them to become a community of believers, united around Christ. “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! . . . For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore” (Psalm 133:1-3 ESV). Pray that their lives will be a witness to their families and neighbors. Pray for the Church to blossom among the Eliri people.
