Osaka, Japan

(OH-sah-kah) – In July, the Osaka team and eight summer interns hosted a large volunteer mission team of 56 people–mostly high school students along with adult leaders. Praise God for traveling mercies to and from Japan, protection of everyone’s health during a very hot point of the summer, and giving everyone His joy in working together to proclaim His gospel of amazing grace! Each day was packed with worship, prayer, evangelism, and various ministries. While working together with Christian brothers and sisters from Southern Baptist supporting churches, the Osaka Team made a lot of new connections with students at a local university and with people in the community through outreach events and 5-minute English evangelism. New connections were made, and some are staying connected through social media. Some people have said they want to participate in later activities. One woman the team met at 5-minute English street evangelism outreach has come to a church service, once by herself and another time with her mother. She said she is interested in Christianity. Pray for her and all those who are staying in contact with the Osaka Team to come to salvation.
