Among the Himalayan peoples, those with disabilities are often viewed as less than. This is usually attributed to a worldview steeped in karma, as many believe a person sinned in a past life and therefore was born with special needs. However, with the influence of Western culture, this worldview is slowly changing. Two local Buddhist women who work with those with special needs in their community have invited a group of Christians from the United States to help train local families to better care for their children with disabilities. Pray for the U.S. group as they enter local homes. Pray that as they show the love of Christ by helping the least of these, they are bold in sharing the gospel. Ask that some of these families come to faith as a result and that lives are transformed.
