(uh-SOM) – Phul is a young woman in her early 30s who is married to a Hindu man. One morning after a worship service, during chai (tea) time, a believing woman met her and asked how she’d come to know Jesus, and Phul replied with a phrase that’s heard commonly in churches: “I was born into a Christian family,” meaning, “that’s why I’m also a Christian.” The two exchanged phone numbers, and the believing woman later invited Phul to her home. On the afternoon of her visit, they sat down to talk. As soon as the believing woman finished explaining the gospel to her, Phul understood that her relationship with God needed some adjustment: She needed to repent and believe. They prayed together, and Phul repented of her sins. At first, she was looking for someone to support her desire to get a divorce. But after discussing everything in the light of the Word and her reconciliation with Christ, she left encouraged and committed to pray for her husband and marriage. Please pray for Phul, asking that she will persevere in her faith and that a Bible study can soon begin in her home. Pray for her husband’s salvation, and pray for her marriage.
