Excitement fills the air, decorations are hung, families gather together, special songs are sung, and juices and desserts are enjoyed. This year, the Islamic holy month, Ramadan, is happening throughout March and is being observed with much enthusiasm. Although there is much commercialism and many cultural aspects, the main focus of the month is to earn a better standing before God through fasting, prayer, and good works. The hope is that through stringently observing the ordinances of this month, people will be able to secure a place in an eternal paradise. Please pray that as people in Shoreline City turn their attention to their eternal state, they will realize that all their “righteous deeds are like a polluted garment” (Isaiah 64:6 ESV) and they are insufficient to save themselves. Pray that they will become restless in their futile searching and striving and find salvation through Jesus!
