Please pray for Ishak, a Sri Lankan Muslim who has expressed an interest in reading the Bible and discussing some of its teachings. Upon beginning, he was almost immediately interrupted by his family and scolded for doing such a thing. It still appears that he is interested in learning and reading more, but his family may make that a challenge. Pray that Ishak will have a continued desire to know the truth in those pages, despite the backlash he has received. Ultimately, pray that the Father will draw Ishak to Himself quickly and that he will run to Jesus. Intercede for a consistent time and location where he can go to read the Bible without raising suspicion from his family, and ask the Spirit to protect him as he continues to seek. Pray that his family’s hearts will be changed and that they will no longer persecute Ishak, but rather join him. Pray that Genesis 50:20 (ESV) will ring true in the lives of Ishak and his family: “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”
