Tears are flowing throughout the country of Sudan. Heads are bowed in sorrow and despair in Sudanese homes. Family after family mourns the death of dear loved ones. Millions are displaced in and outside of the country, having lost their home, their livelihood, their opportunity for education, their friends, and their community. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4 ESV). Pray for the Sudanese people to be comforted. May they look to God and find their comfort in Him. Pray for them to hear the good news that God loves them and has a plan to give them hope. In their sorrow, may the hearts of the Sudanese soften to the gospel. Pray for believers to reach out in love, comfort, and empathy to their Sudanese friends and neighbors.
