“This spring, Cape Town Baptist Seminary students were dispersed across the city to work with local churches during a missions emphasis week,” writes the Theological Education Team. “One of those student-led mission projects was a ministry to children held at a local Islamic community center. The group led games, performed a skit, and taught the words of John 3:16 and its meaning. A missionary kid (MK) told her testimony to the circle of children, and a seminary student shared the gospel. Afterward, one child stepped forward to pray to follow Jesus. While it’s unusual for a ‘partnership’ like this to exist, the Muslim leaders of that center, upon returning, were pleased that neighborhood children were supervised, happy, and loved on a Friday night. A seminary professor asked the Muslim leaders if the group could pray for them, and with a chuckle, the leader replied, ‘We can’t leave until we’ve prayed.’ A team member asked another MK to pray aloud, and he prayed for the leaders and others to know God’s Word and allow God to guide them in His truth. Please join the students in this prayer for them: ‘Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth’ (John 17:17 ESV).”
