(is-tan-BULL) – A year and a half ago, in a district of the city with no established church, a small group of believers began meeting with the hope of planting a local fellowship. Their goal was to encourage a few local Christians to gather for worship and eventually covenant together as a church. At first, the efforts felt discouraging, progress was slow, and the local people seemed hesitant. Honestly, it felt like a flop. But as they prayed, humbled themselves before God, and sought His direction, He began to move. Slowly, He brought people into place and revealed His power and goodness. In the past few months, four believers have moved into the area and three new individuals have come to faith! Praise God for His faithfulness in shining the light of the gospel in a place with little visible Christian presence! Please pray that this emerging group will continue to grow in unity and commitment. They are now meeting regularly in homes for worship and reading the Word, but attendance can be sporadic. Pray that each believer will grasp the beauty of the church and the value of meaningful membership, and pray that, in time, they will covenant together as a local fellowship.
