Sarah’s Scholarships for Seminary Students in Botswana

On June 8th, 2017, our precious daughter, Sarah, was killed in a bus crash on her way to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in Botswana. Sarah’s greatest passion in life was her relationship with Jesus Christ and making Him known. One of her final text messages reflected that focus as she wrote, “We are like a wisp of smoke. We are only here for a moment. And this is not about us. Life is not about us. It’s about God, who is eternal. So I want to dedicate the one moment I’m here completely and entirely to him.”

Sarah was prayerfully confident that God had called her to travel on mission to Botswana. Moments before the bus crashed, taking her life, she wrote in her journal, “God has called me here and He’s done so for a reason. So I know He’s going to do incredible things.”

In honor of Sarah, we want to bring to fruition more of the “incredible things” God is doing by providing scholarships for four Botswana seminary students — one scholarship for each year of Sarah’s absence from us. Will you join us?

These young men are passionate about biblically pastoring churches in Botswana and training local believers to make new disciples. However, the funds to attend seminary are scarce for many students. To continue Sarah’s mission, we desire to make a seminary education available for them.

Through their education at the Baptist Convention Seminary, they will learn to effectively push back against the tide of prosperity theology and other unbiblical practices and beliefs and shine the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ across Botswana and beyond.

We would love for you to prayerfully consider partnering with us to train pastors in Botswana to make known the name of Jesus Christ and the hope of His gospel.
