About This Project
Political upheaval in Iraq and Syria has opened doors for many Syrians and Iraqis to hear the gospel for the first time. These previously hard-to-access-peoples are experiencing the tangible love of Jesus Christ as believers meet some of their most desperate needs. Syrian refugees have poured into Iraq, and past events have caused a wave of displaced Iraqis. This crisis presents an opportunity to meet their physical, emotional, and educational needs and enables long-term workers to share the gospel with Syrian refugee families/groups and displaced Iraqi families/groups. They have significant physical needs in almost all situations and experience relational and social seclusion in their displaced living environments.
Your gift will open doors to meet needs, share the message of Christ’s love, and fulfill a vision for them to know God’s lasting peace. Give today while this unique window of opportunity is open. Thousands of Syrians and Iraqis who would not otherwise hear about hope, peace, and salvation through Christ will gain access to the gospel because of your partnership in this unprecedented opportunity.
Why direct giving matters
Giving directly to a missionary team helps fund the specific, on-the-ground needs your missionaries care deeply about—needs that aren't covered by CP and LMCO alone.
Thank you so much for your generosity to this ministry and the Iraqi people God calls us to reach. Your prayers and sacrificial giving open doors to meet needs, share Christ’s love, and show them true and lasting peace. Thousands of Iraqis who would not otherwise hear about hope, peace, and grace gain access because of your partnership.
Opportunities abound. The Iraqi Crisis Response project provides many opportunities to share the love of Christ. Due to past and ongoing crises within Iraq, families continue to be displaced even today. Thanks to your generosity, many of these displaced families see and feel the love of Jesus Christ in tangible ways as we seek to meet physical, emotional, and educational needs.
Food bags deliver hope. One specific way your generosity is helping families in crisis is through the distribution of food bags. Many families are living day-to-day, working to provide for their families. There is little work, and the salaries are small if people have jobs. Each week, families from many different backgrounds receive a visit from a believing partner. The Father uses a simple food bag—like Jesus used the boy’s fishes and loaves (Matthew 14:13-21)—to reach those who have never heard the gospel. Thank you for serving the hurting and lost.
We are so thankful for you, our partners, who make this project possible. Your sacrificial gifts and intercession are truly transforming lives as we partner together to solve the world’s greatest problem, lostness.
Providing medical care, mental health programs, food bags, and education for displaced children has significantly impacted the individuals affected by the ongoing conflicts and difficulties in Syria, Iraq, and surrounding countries. These relief efforts have given individuals who haven’t been able to return to their homes for years a renewed sense of dignity and purpose that was abruptly snatched during violent conflicts and displacements. Thank you for your generosity in providing these items for so many who are hurting and vulnerable. Though we wish these atrocities had not happened, many desperate Syrians are now open to hearing about the love of a God who provides for them this way.

God is using your faithfulness to open more doors for the gospel. We have gained access to new communities through the food, medical, and mobility equipment distributions. Additionally, community leaders have expressed a desire for mental health programs, children’s education, and community development projects to improve their people’s livelihoods. These projects meet the people’s short-and-long-term needs and allow us into the surrounding communities. The relationships we have established give us the freedom to share the gospel and begin discipling those interested in knowing more or who have put their faith in Christ.
Thank you for coming alongside us in this work. Your prayers and gifts are truly impacting lives, and we ask you prayerfully to consider making another gift so the work can continue to bear fruit. We’re glad you are part of our global team!

The Iraq Crisis Response project has allowed us unprecedented access to the lives of displaced Iraqis and Syrians. Your gifts have met the needs of so many individuals and families that have faced incredible hardships, scores of whom are uncertain of the source of their next meal. Simultaneously, your gifts have allowed us access to their homes, where the Lord has used us to share His good news with most of these families. Even though there are still so many needs amongst the displaced community, a significant number of them have now heard of the hope and peace offered in Jesus Christ, and some have given their lives to Him!

Today, because of your giving, we have the blessed opportunity to disciple many new believers who had never before heard of the salvation offered in Christ. We have the privilege and joy of seeing them labor alongside us in these harvest fields for the sake of the gospel. In addition, we are working with many individuals and families who desire to know more about following Christ. Praise God for His faithfulness!

You are a significant part of our team. Your gifts and prayers make possible the opportunities we have to be the hands and feet of Jesus and verbally share a gospel witness. Thank you for your obedience to the Lord and trust in us as your “boots on the ground” teammates. God is doing wonderful work in the hearts of displaced Syrians and Iraqis! Let’s keep fighting the good fight and not grow weary in doing the good work of the gospel. Your partnership is crucial, and we thank God for you!
Many people in the Bible were doing ordinary, everyday things when God called them to serve Him in a special way. Is God calling you? Could He be leading you to serve Him among the peoples of Northern Africa and the Middle East? View the video.
In the next five years, a globalization goal of all IMB workers is to mobilize 500 local believers to become global missionary partners serving on IMB teams.
