Yemen Crisis Response

Provide food, shelter, and medicine to the displaced and most vulnerable in one of the worst humanitarian crises in modern history.
For eight years, the conflict in Yemen has raged without a long-term solution in sight. Though it is currently considered the worst humanitarian disaster in the world, it is a “forgotten” war that has slipped off the newsfeed and out of minds worldwide, to the harsh detriment of millions of Yemeni people who daily face hunger, lack of medical care, disease, destruction, and trauma as effects of unceasing civil war.

The greatest tragedy is that most Yemenis have never heard the gospel. Fewer than .01% of Yemenis follow Jesus. The civil war in Yemen has caused Yemenis to question their faith and intensely seek new answers. You can be a part of God’s plan to meet both types of suffering—physical and spiritual. A team of long-term workers is seeking to establish a new point of direct engagement. Partner with them in this new phase of response to the humanitarian disaster!

Your gift will provide opportunities to meet physical needs and enable face-to-face seed-sowing, discipleship, and leadership development in the growing Yemeni church.

Though the world seems to have forgotten their distress, the Lord has not forgotten the Yemeni people. He has equipped His church to minister in the power of His name and has promised never to leave or forsake them. Join Him in this work! He will bring the beauty of eternal life to Yemenis out of the ashes of war.

Location

North African and Middle Eastern Peoples

North Africa and the Middle East is consistently thrust into the international news as it develops into one of the world’s most enigmatic-but-influential global regions. Vast economic development typifies its urban centers, offering creative business opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Religious life permeates every society here, whether its residents are Muslim, Christian, or Jewish. Though Christianity began in this cradle of civilization, it is sometimes difficult to know if the church exists. Cities that birthed the gospel now house ornate mosques, temples, and skyscrapers. Thankfully, the church is experiencing a captivating resurgence among this region's 520 unengaged and unreached people groups.

Millions of refugees live here, displaced by war, famine, oppression, or poverty. Many are open to the gospel, seeking an anchor amid the upheaval of their lives. Pray for Christian workers as they share the hope of the gospel during this unprecedented spiritual openness.
