From Mission Field to Mission Force Team

For centuries, unreached indigenous groups in the Southern Philippines have
fought for independence. Having resisted the Spanish, Americans, Japanese, and
their national government, millions developed a fortress mindset, with false
perceptions of Christianity and a desire to preserve their culture and religion
at any cost. Civil conflict erected walls of fear and hatred that historically
hindered local churches from reaching out to these tribes.

In recent years, however, the Lord has drawn out national believers and churches
as they have begun to understand the Great Commission’s mandate to reach all
peoples. Ministering to felt needs in these communities, like potable water and
sanitary waste disposal, has opened doors, providing access to villages that
were never before open to outsiders. These humanitarian projects create
opportunities for national believers to meet needs and share the gospel. It also
helps reinforce to local churches the great need for the gospel among these
people groups and the necessity of sending out missionaries to make disciples
and plant churches.

We truly see the biblical reality of the power of the gospel to save, but how
are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? Much of this country,
which was once a mission field, has now become a mission force to reach those
remaining tribes cut off from the gospel. Your gift will help our team encourage
and equip a new missionary force who will go into the world and preach the
gospel.  Because of the faithfulness of national believers, people from tribes,
previously considered unreachable, are coming to Jesus, being discipled, and
meeting to study God’s Word.
