About This Project
Less than 5% of this minority people group in Central Asia can read their language. They are literate in the Russian language but oral learners at heart. This project will provide a translation of the Bible in an oral format which can be used for our broad seed sowing campaigns, evangelism, discipleship and church planting. Your gift will be used to hire translators and rent office space to begin an oral Bible translation for a Muslim people group.
Some of the Bible has already been translated into this language but since so few can read their language, it is largely unusable. About 30 stories from the Bible have been translated orally with much better understanding and receptivity. Your gift will provide the possibility of the entire Bible being made available to this people group so that they can hear the Word of God in their heart language and understand the gospel and God’s love for them.
Why direct giving matters
Giving directly to a missionary team helps fund the specific, on-the-ground needs your missionaries care deeply about—needs that aren't covered by CP and LMCO alone.
“I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:9).
Umar* reads scripture like this regularly but is not a Christian.
He is one of six native speakers helping translate the Bible for a Central Asian people group without access to Scripture. He does that because believers like you know that God’s Word transforms lives.
Umar is very close to giving his life to Jesus. He believes but struggles with the inevitable costs of becoming a believer. He could lose his family and his place in the community. They may even force him to leave if he commits to following Jesus.
Your generosity to this ministry has enabled Umar and a team of native speakers to translate the Gospels of Luke and John and three Old Testament books and make audio recordings of them.
These recordings are available to local people through social media and apps, providing more accessibility and safety for those seeking the Savior.
Because of your faithful support, Umar and the team will begin working on a complete Old Testament translation this year and then move into the remainder of the Gospels and the Book of Acts. Thank you for making this possible.
Please join us in prayer:
Thank you for investing in translating Scripture for this Central Asian unreached people group. Your gifts and prayers are opening doors to the gospel!
