About This Project
God is doing some amazing things in the churches here! Many church networks now exist across the region, and He is continually adding to them. Traditional models for training new pastors are not enough, and the lack of adequately trained leaders is leaving new churches open to false teaching. Your gift will provide training for pastors and pastor-coaches who help these new churches go deeper in the faith while continuing to plant new churches among the region’s unreached peoples.
Long-term workers have developed two simple curriculums for training believers in the church networks: Foundations and Confessions. Foundations teaches Old and New Testament survey, Scripture interpretation (hermeneutics) and preaching/teaching (homiletics). Confessions helps leaders write a statement of faith.
The church networks are developing Movement Strengthening Strategists, who ensure that each pastor is equipped for ministry. These leaders are now coming together in an MSS cohort, or cooperative, for further coaching, accountability and cross-pollination. The members help each other recognize their network’s weaknesses, identify any false teaching circulating in their churches and work together to combat these issues with sound biblical teaching.
Your partnership is vital to the spread of sound, biblical teaching across this part of South Asia. God is saving souls and multiplying churches. Join Him in this work, feeding His sheep and strengthening church networks!
Why direct giving matters
Giving directly to a missionary team helps fund the specific, on-the-ground needs your missionaries care deeply about—needs that aren't covered by CP and LMCO alone.
In the next five years, a globalization goal of all IMB workers is to mobilize 500 local believers to become global missionary partners serving on IMB teams.
