About This Project
The Bicol region in the Philippines is home to a collection of related tribal groups, the “A” tribes. Praise God that in partnership with IMB, two church networks of different tribal groups, the “B” and “M” tribes, have sent missionaries to reach the “A” tribes, and the church is growing in some of these groups. Now the church leaders from these Bicol churches have a vision to establish a Bible College to train up leaders to continue reaching the rest of the people groups that are still unreached.
In 2020, the Bible College opened, with 18 people completing the first semester. This enrollment is much higher than anticipated, so the school has already outgrown the building! Plus, there is no place for farming on this space, which the students need to support themselves. In partnership with the tribes, your gift will build the Bible College from the ground up: buying the land, building classrooms, dorms and teacher housing, and developing the curriculum. By God’s provision, a perfect piece of land has been found that meets all the requirements for a Bible College, with space for farming to make it self-sustaining. The land has an accessible road, a year-round potable water source, flat areas for buildings, and agriculture-ready fields. (A coconut plantation is on the property now.)
The plan is first to buy the land and put up some temporary living quarters so that the school can move to this location; then planting can begin. Next, we will build a dorm, classroom, and teacher apartments. The “M” tribe from another island has committed to sending and supporting four Bible teachers for the school. The “B” tribe will generously host another school semester in their building until the new school is established. The IMB team will provide rice until the first harvest and print the curricula.
The believers from the “A” tribes are eager to build their Bible knowledge, learn to plant healthy multiplying churches and develop farming skills so they can be self-supporting as they start new churches among their own people. Give today to support their vision of equipping the next generation of missionaries and pastors to take the gospel to the remaining unreached people groups in this area!
Why direct giving matters
Giving directly to a missionary team helps fund the specific, on-the-ground needs your missionaries care deeply about—needs that aren't covered by CP and LMCO alone.
Because of our location, the Tribal Bible College campus is called on to host events from time to time. Recently, we were asked to host a youth camp.
We expected roughly 50 young people from 10 surrounding communities. Instead, we had 105 youth show up. Praise God!
A national partner and previous BOOST program graduate led the camp. The week focused on finding their identity in Christ alone.
These students heard the gospel and learned more about what it means to have a strong and growing relationship with Jesus.
They had lots of fun, participating in games and being mentored by local believers.
Thank you for your gifts to Tribal Bible College, which provided this facility for local youth to gather and learn about Christ.
Please pray for young people in this region to follow God wholeheartedly so they will be known as “the generation of the righteous” (Psalm 14:5).
Tomas* and Felicity* are new missionaries your generosity trained to bring the gospel to the lost.
They arrived at Tribal Bible College with little understanding of where or how God would use them but with a complete willingness to seek and obey the Lord.
As they studied Bible and theology, they matured in their faith. Pastoral and leadership training led them to serve and equip others for ministry. Missions and church planting teachings confirmed God’s call on their lives.
Just as God called you to participate in the Great Commission through giving and praying, He called this young couple to go.
Tomas and Felicity recently moved to a formerly unreached, unengaged people group (UUPG). The couple is learning the language, adjusting to the culture, and building relationships—things all new missionaries must do.
Thank you for providing Tomas and Felicity the training they need to follow God’s call to this new community. Because of your faithfulness, TBC has recently graduated its first class, with three students completing all seven semesters.
Please join us in prayer:
Your gifts and prayers matter! They are making a difference in the lives of Tomas, Felicity, and others, training to take the gospel to unreached tribes in the Philippines.

In the next five years, a globalization goal of all IMB workers is to mobilize 500 local believers to become global missionary partners serving on IMB teams.
