Assist two long-term missionary families as they homeschool their children. Evangelize and disciple young people in the capital city, Lilongwe, in one the world’s youngest nations. Open doors for sharing the gospel through teaching ESL. Join the ministry of local churches as they seek to make disciples both in Malawi and beyond. Work alongside national missionaries as they plant churches in the most strategic parts of the country. Strive side-by-side with local believers and missionaries toward the dream of seeing Malawi transformed from mission field to mission force.
Residency – An opportunity to serve on mission for one or two semesters while being mentored by an IMB field missionary. Active members of Southern Baptist churches receive a subsidy, which includes travel to/from Orientation/Debrief at ILC, room and board at Orientation/Debrief, travel to/from the field and emergency insurance. There is no subsidy for applicants who are not members of a Southern Baptist Church. All monies raised or donated in excess of the stated cost of this particular Residency trip will be used to offset the additional, subsidized field cost expenditure for the student. These monies may also be used to supplement the broader cost of ministry related to the Residency program, in general. Application deadlines: Fall Residency trips: deadline to apply is May 1. Spring Residency trips: deadline to apply is October 1.
