The oldest baptistery outside of Israel is in Naples, Italy. It used to be an emersion baptistery, and when people were bent back into the water, they could see the beautiful mosaics on the roof that look like scenes from heaven.

The ceiling of St. Paul’s Cathedral in downtown London, England. St. Paul’s has been at the heart of the city of London for 1,400 years. The plans for the current St. Paul’s received approval from King Charles II in 1675 after the Great Fire of London destroyed the previous Gothic cathedral in 1666.

All churches have multiple candle stands in front of the icons and it is customary for worshipers to purchase candles, light them and place them on the stands. This ritual signifies a person’s prayer to God, or to the saints or angels. As long as the candle is burning, it is believed that the saint intercedes for them.
