As Christians who have a heart for the Tajik people, she and her Uzbek husband believe in the importance of keeping Tajik customs. Hospitality is built into the Tajik culture. Whenever a guest comes over, whether expected or not, it is the hosts’ responsibility to serve the guest with food and drink. Guests are always invited in for ‘tea,’ meaning a meal.
