The traditional Mongolian saying, “A Mongol without a horse is like a bird without wings,” indicates how highly the horse is esteemed among Mongolians. Cherished above all other animals for their practicality in this predominantly nomadic culture, the strong, stocky Mongol horse has barely changed since the days of Genghis Khan.
