In the Santa Rosa de Fatma slum in downtown Lima, Peru, a shrine to a patron saint is decorated with fresh flowers despite the impoverished state of the residents. The neighborhood was one of many without running water or sewage until funds from the IMB helped to install the necessary plumbing to provide these necessities.
