Only a few years after the breakup of the Soviet Union, believers from First Baptist Church in Novosibirsk, Russia, walk toward the Enya River for baptism wearing robes that signify their new life in Christ. For years, the czars and then Communist authorities used Siberia as a place of punishment. But evangelicals they sent there often stayed and used their persecution as an opportunity to share their faith.
