Longtime International Mission Board leader Clyde D. Meador died April 26, 2024. He was 79. Clyde and Elaine Meador began their careers with IMB in 1974 when they were appointed as missionaries to Indonesia. For the next 45 years, Clyde served in areas of increasing responsibility and leadership in Indonesia, Central and Southern Asia, and IMB's Richmond, Virginia, office as top advisor and executive vice president. Clyde also served as IMB's interim president from August 2010 to March 2011 and again briefly in 2018 before the election of current President Paul Chitwood.
Clyde was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and considered Albuquerque, New Mexico, his hometown. Clyde is survived by his wife, Elaine; two grown children; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
