Overview

The 2+2 Pathway is a seminary-to-field pipeline developed in partnership with Southern Baptist seminaries. Participants spend their first two years on a seminary campus building the theological foundation for a lifetime of missionary service. The final two years are spent on the field, serving alongside an IMB church planting team and putting that training to work in real cross-cultural ministry. While the seminary portion is not IMB-funded, the two years of overseas service are fully covered by the IMB, making the 2+2 a clear and structured path from the classroom to the nations.

Why This Pathway?

  • Build a strong theological foundation with two years of on-campus seminary training before heading to the field
  • Spend your final two years fully funded by the IMB, serving on an international church planting team sharing Christ
  • Complete your seminary education and gain real field experience without unnecessary delay
  • Enter long-term missionary service with both the training and the experience to hit the ground running
  • A clear, structured pathway for those who want to do seminary right and get to the field as soon as possible
